    2. < Janette Burke (JFBURKE@BELLATLANTIC.NET) asks: < Can someone suggest how to handle the change in spelling of the last < name in their databases.> Hi, Janette, I use what I consider the generic spelling in my database - BOLLING - although my ancestors used BOLLING, BOWLING or BOLING, many times all for the same person. It is easier for me to use the one spelling, and mark the variation in the notes that the name was spelled differently and quote the source. It has worked for me in the database that I use. I started out with BOLLING because that is the way it had been handed down in the family, but I later found other variations to add.
