Is anybody researching Bolling in Sumner Co., TN or Simpson County, KY especially before 1850? I am researching the following line. John and his wife Grizella are listed on the marriage rolls of Sumner County, TN, but on the 1850 census in Simpson County, KY. I suspect their families lived somewhere near the state line. They later moved to Franklin County, IL with a number of people from Jackson/Overton County, TN, then went on to Johnson County, TX. Every record that John appears in, his name is spelled differently, but the family settled on Bowling by the time they get to TX. There is another family in the same area in TX that spells their name Bollin, and they intermarried with the Bowlings, but I am not sure if they are directly connected to this family.
