Hi, I was VERY interesting in your posting to the list regarding Robert Bolin. Is the the same Robert Bolin that is buried in Marion Co., Ala? He filed for land in St. Clair Co., Ala. & then in Marion Co., Ala. In CEMETERY INSCRIPTIONS OF MARION CO., ALABAMA, VOL. I, by Dorothy Shores Stalcup & William Spann Stalcup, l979, there is in the Zion Baptist Church (Missionary), a Robert Bowlan, Sept. 30, l782-July 8, l85l & a Mary Bowlan July l785-Oct. l9, l848. In the same cemetery there is a Henry N. Bowlan March 3, l825-Dec. 29, l898 (Married to Martha C. Byars Jan. l, l845) & Martha Bowlan Jan. 9, l824-May ll, l898. You also have a possible children a Brantley Bolen. One of his daughters married a Willoughby Bolen who I believe is a nephew or grandson of my Willoughby Bolen. So I'm trying to find all these family ties. My Willoughby Bolen is on the l830 Census for Marion Co., Ala. He later moved to Mo. I just came from a trip to Miss. & spend about 2 hrs. in the Itawamba Co., Miss. courthouse. After I get my information together I hope to post the Bolen info to the list. I'm trying to discover is my Willoughby Bolen of Marion Co., Ala. is connected to the Itawamba Co. Bolens. I believe there may be some connection. It is my understanding that the Marion Co. Courthouse burned in the late l800's so I'm not sure if there are any records left on these early families or not. So I thought I'd try the Bolen family in Franklin Co., Ala. just north & their courthouse also burned. Are there records in Lawrence Co.? Maybe I can check into them the next time I go down there. Anyway researching these families, I would love to hear from also. Bernadine Teague
