Hi, Was wondering about the Lemuel Bowling .My g.g.grandfather name was William Lemuel Bolling.(Bowling) My g.g.grandmother's name (his wife) was name was Jane Grizzell(Grissell).She was from Ga.For some reason I think there may be a connection.

Does anyone have information on a William and Sally Bowling? William was born around 1776 and I don't know when Sally was born, however I was told she was William's cousin. William's father is James Bolling (b. 1756) and his son in Russell Bowling who married Julia Hammonds in Laurel Co., KY. Reminder: Carroll County was split and formed Haralson Co. GA. The 1860 Federal Census shows both Carroll and Haralson Counties. Any help would be appreciated! Hi, My name is Thomas Stephen Bowling and I was born in Nelson County, Kentucky, where my family has been since 1785. Prior to that they lived in Maryland, in the areas of Prince George, Charles and St. Mary's Counites. My immigrant ancestor was a Thomas Bowling, originally from somewhere in England who came to Maryland sometime before 1690. He was the brother of Captain James Bowling, the rather famous early Maryland immgrant. He returned to England around 1697 and apparently died there about 1700 and was considered to be the progenitor of the Maryland Bowling's and consequently the Nelson County Kentucky Bowling's. My problem is, where in England did the family come from, was the family connected to the Virginia Bowlings (or Bollings) and most importantly what was the family's ancestry ? I received some information last June pertaining to my line and other lines. All the lines proceed from Stephen Bolin who is my 4th ggrandfather. My line comes down from Stephen through John Bolin through Thomas Bolin through John Emmanuel Bolin, through my father who still survives. I have researched my family line and all the dates of my line are correct. I have had two people give me the 1850 Roane County, TN census. Whoever had these names and dates at least on my family was correct in their names and dates.
