Looking for information on the following family. John R. Williams m Mary Boling, Bolin, Bolen probably some where in Tn. Mary d. ca 1850. Does this information connect with any one researching the Williams lines? Does this connect to anyone researching the Bowling, Bolling, Boling, Bolen, Bolin etc. lines. After Mary died I am sure that John R. Williams probably remarried. Wanting to know if there were children between John R. and Mary. Will gladly accept any information on this family. Kaye
Hi Barbara, Funny my message on the list just said looking for Sallie Bowling...I wonder if something went awok with the email...oh well.. I suspect your Sally came from the Virginia Bowlings/Bollings...they were not Catholic, and I have nothing on them, but know there are researchers doing those lines. The Nelson County, KY Bowlings were generally descendants of Thomas Bowling b. 1763 in Maryland, son of John and Mary Green Bowling (she was dau of James Green, Jr). He came from Prince George's Co, MD to KY after 1785 with the Catholic migration. These Bowlings and those below are all Catholics. In Katherine Bowling Swigert's book, "Thomas Bowling, His Ancestors of Maryland, his Descendants of Nelson Co, KY" I have William and Mary (Boarman? possibly dau of James Boarman) Bowling. He was born in 1707, and married before 1733. He died in 1789 in Prince George's Co, MD (will Lib. Al #10 folio 56 proved 23 Mar 1789). In his will he names: son Thomas, son Joseph, son John, son Francis. There was probably a son, William. Thomas died unmarried; Francis died unmarried; Mary b. 1736 married Joseph Boarman; John m. Sarah Jenkins. John and Sarah Jenkins BOwling had children: Elizabeth, Aloysius, Sarah, Priscilla, Ann, Mary, Walter, Edward, John Francis Regis, and Basil. Sarah Bowling, wife of John, is shown on the 1800 census of PG County as head of household, with 1 male 16-26; 1 male 26-45, 3 females 26-45 and 1 female over 45 (herself). Priscilla died unmarriedin 1806, and names sisters Elizabeth and Sarah as still single, nephews William and Henry (sons of John Francis Regis Bowling), Basil married MaryHardy, Ann married a Spalding, Mary married ?, and Walter is listed in "Maryland Slave Owners and Superintendents 1798" It is possible that Sarah Bowling went to KY with some other family members. I have a Sarah Ann Bowling m. Matthew Riney 30 Jan 1837 in Washington Co, KY. That is all I have in reference to any Sarah (or Sallie)...hope someone else may have something. I will check some other things and see what I can find. Shirley
