Unfortunately, did not find a burial for Rachel (Browning) McConnell in the book under burials - but the burials listed are only for those persons born before 1830. There were several McConnell burials but none that fit in with this family. I found no listings for any Browing's. However, I did find the following family genealogies:[pgs 535-536] ROBERT MCCONNELL - a native of Pennsylvania, removed probably from Washington county, that State, to Belmont county, Ohio, 1807; and thence in 1814 to Washington township, Harrison county, Ohio, where he d. Aug. 22, 1850; served in the War of 1812; m. (1st) in Pennsylvania, Mary Caldwell; m. (2d) Prudence Coleman who d. 1867; had issue by first wife; 1. James, b. 1790; 2. Susan, b. 1793, m. _____Lee; 3. David, b. 1795; 4. Alexander, b. 1796; 5. Martha, b. 1797; 6. Mary, b. 1800, m. _____Vance; had issue by second wife: 7. Robert, b. Nov. 21, 1802; 8. Hannah, b. Sept 30, 1804, m. _____Coleman; 9. JOHN-C, b. Jan. 1, 1807 in Belmont county [OH], and settled in Washington township with his parents, d. July 18, 1873, m. (1st) Jane Boles who d. May 29, 1841, daughter of James Boles; m. (2d) April 9, 1848 RACHEL BROWNING, b. Jan 25, 1825, daughter of Samuel Browning; 10. William, b. Jan 6, 1809; 11. Wilson, b. April 13, 1811; 12. Prudence, b. March 22, 1813; 13. Marg! aret-Ann, b. Sept 21, 1815, m. _____Farnsworth; 14. Sara, b. Nov. 18, 1817; 15. Elizabeth, b. Nov. 6, 1819, m. ______Wilson; 16. Alexander-S., b. March 25, 1822; 17. David, b. Sept. 4, 1824. SAMUEL BROWNING, father of Rachel McConnell, d. in Athens township, 1864; served in the War of 1812; m. Margaret Markee, whose parents were natives of England; had issue: 1. Julia-A.; 2. Elias; 3. Samuel; 4. Absalom; 5. RACHEL; 6. Margaret; 7. Sarah; 8. Asbury-T; 9. Susanna; 10. Wesley; 11. Zara; 12. Edward. Under early marriages were the following: Pg. 276 = John C. McConnell & Jane Bowles - March 03, 1836, by Mark Hogg, JP. Pg. 604 = John C. McConnell & Rachel Browning - April 09, 1848, by R. K. Price, JP. Checking Wills: [pg 431] ROBERT MCCONNELL, date of will, July 20, 1845; date of probate, Nov. 6, 1850; wife, Prudence; children, Alexander, Wilson, Robert, JOHN, James, Susanna Lee, Martha, Mary Vance, Hannah Coleman, Margaret Ann Farnsworth, Elizabeth Wilson; execs., JOHN MCCONNELL, Alexander McConnell; wits., Eli Smith, Lemuel Billingsley, Jonas Holloway. Since John's father, Robert McConnell, first settled in the adjoining county of Belmont after coming to Ohio, I wonder if they all might be buried there instead of in Harrison County?
