Visitation will be 5-8 today at the chapel of Wright & Ferguson Funeral Highland Colony Parkway in Ridgeland. Funeral services will be held Thursday, July 10, 2008, at 10:00 a.m. at Wright & Ferguson preceded by visitation at 9:00 a.m. Entombment will follow in Trinity Mausoleum. Buddy was a native of French Camp, MS. He graduated from French Camp Academy and Holmes Community College. He also served 4 years with the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. Buddy happily retired from Texas Eastern Gas Pipe Line with 32 years of service. He was a longtime member and servant of First Presbyterian Church of Madison. After retirement, Buddy and Nell enjoyed traveling in their RV with their many friends. He also loved the music and fellowship at Blue Grass festivals. Buddy was an active proud member of the American Legion Post 153. He began each day happily meeting, his many pals at his McDonald's Coffee Club. He also loved planting his garden and lending a helping hand to anyone who needed a "Mr. Fixit." He always had a project to start and a joke to tell. Buddy truly loved life and never met a stranger. He will be greatly missed. He is survived by his wife of 53 years, Nell Lawrence Parkerson; daughter, Gail Hunt; treasured grandsons, Matthew & Michael Hunt all of Madison; sister, June Pee of French Camp, MS; and brother, Warren Parkerson of Clarksville, GA. He is preceded in death by his parents, Virgil and Nettie Bowles Parkerson, brother, Weldon; and sister, Loree.
