To: <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Message-ID: <[email protected]<mailto:[email protected]>> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="windows-1250" I am interested in connecting with family of all siblings of the below (all siblings not listed). See BOYLES / BOWLES connection near bottom, #4. Details direct in my line: Isaac SMITH married unknown WHITCOMB. Their daughter Mary Inez SMITH married John Julius AMONS (senior), 2nd Charles GUILD, 3rd John Barrymore LUCAS. Mary & Johns daughter, Elsie Susannah AMONS married Henry Clay FELIX / ST. FELIX. Mary & John had one son, deceased prior to death of only young child. Mary had children in other marriages. Elsie S. AMONS and Henry C. FELIX / ST. FELIX had four surviving children: 1. Inez FELIX (married TAYLOR in Springfield, Ohio and died same). 2. Charles Percy FELIX (had daughter Thelma by 1st wife and at least two others unknown by unmarried woman). Burial Military cemetery in Arkansas. 3. Harry Clarence FELIX (married Mary / Mamie QUINN: Children Marcella (died as infant), Harold Clarence (no children), LeRoy Charles ST. FELIX (my father). 4. Ruth FELIX. Ruth married 1. Robert H. SCOTT, Clark Co., Springfield, OH. 2. Obit of parent shows Ruth's last name as BOYLES / BOWLES or close to in spelling (from memory). Ruth had at least one daughter, name unknown. Ruth's death & burial in New Orleans. Ruth (FELIX) SCOTT - BOYLES / BOWLES would be a first cousin to my father, still alive and mentally sharp at almost age 92. He would like to know more. He has no memory of Ruth per a family situation but years ago my grandmother (1st wife to Harry C. FELIX) said she was a beautiful girl. It appears to have been built in the 2nd half of the 18th century. Today, the crossroads where it stood is being encroached by development. Hanover County recently received a grant to conduct an archaelogical study of the site. It was pivotal in it's relation to the road system as it was built wherre the Mountain Road crosses the Stage Road to points North and South. A description of the building from an insurance policy dated April 29, 1801 reads as follows: "The wooden tavern was 68 ft. long and 18 ft. wide, one-storey, brick basement, with stable and carriage house. I an letter dated 1929, Miss Effie Bowles Kelly describes it as having a brick English basement (above ground) and the balance was framed with wood clapboards. The roof was Dutch-style (a gambrel, or barn-style roof). The rooms were very large and the stables were of log construction. Last owned by the Perrin family, it was torn down around 1915. Hope that helps. Let me know if you would like to know more. Karl Harrelson Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
