Bowles, 77, a retired farmer of the Acton Community in Taylor County, died suddenly at his home at 9:30 a.m., Monday, January 10th due to a heart condition. Mr. Bowles was born in Taylor County son of the late Mary Emma Roots and Charlie W. Bowles. He professed faith in Christ early in life and was a member of the Spurlington Methodist Church. He was also a veteran of World War I and a member of the Campbellsville Disabled American Veterans Chapter #70. He was married to Miss Lydia Hogan, February 11, 1914. Besides his wife, he is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, January 12th in the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home by Rev. Jerry Whitley and Rev. Irwin Gentry, Rev. Travis Keltner. Burial was in Elkhorn Cemetery. Pallbearers: James Sallee, Richard Sallee, J. R. Bowen, Chester Sharpe, Wesley Whitley, Samuel Phillips. Honorary pallbearers: Ray Reeves, George Sapp, Howard Penn, Romey Reynolds, Daniel Whit! e, Kyle Phillips, Hugh Howell, Henry Loy, Alonza Sapp, Paul Harmon, Joey Sallee, Marvin Newton, Vernon Bohanon, Frank McDermott, Samuel Colvin and C. V. Bryan.
