Genevieve counties in Missouri, directly from Nelson and adjacent counties in Kentucky, namely Marion, Washington, Jefferson. Many of these same family members are from these same settlements in Kentucky, before Missouri became a state. It was known as the Louisiana Territory, settled by the Maryland Catholics about 1800=1805. The land grants were directly from Spain through the territorial Lt. Governor. The families listed are as follows: I know this book covers many of these same family descendants. It has information on many of the Kentucky families. Page 2 of the book lists Basil Hayden as the leader of the group in the migration to Kentucky per Ben Webb's book, "CENTENARY OF CATHOLICITY IN KENTUCKY", (1888). The other members of the group are listed as Phillip Lee, William Bald, Bernard Cissell, Charles Payne, William Brewer, Leonard Johnson, Henry McAtee, Joseph Clark, Stephen Elliot, James Mollihorne, Henry Norris, Ignatius Cissell, Ignatius Byrne, Randal Hagan, John Bowles, Ignatius Hagan, Jeremiah Brown, Robert Cissell, Ignatius Bowles, Hezekiah Luckett, Stanislaus Melton, Thomas Bowin, John Baptist Dant, Philip Miles, Harry Hill, John Hutchins, Isaac Thawles, John Spalding, William Mahony, Henry Lucas, William Bowles, James Queen, Bernard Nally, James Stevens, Ignatius French, Washington Boone, Francis Bryan, Jeremiah Wathen, Thomas Mudd, Raphael R. Mudd, Walter Burch, Philip Mattingly, Joseph Spal! ding, James Dant, Joseph Dant, Urban Speaks, Joseph Edelen, Joseph Howe, Joseph Mills, Harry Mills, Monica Hagan, Rodolphus Norris and Francis Peak. It also states on page 2, that some of these same individuals later joined in the immigration to Missouri. Timothy O'Rourke also states that the fact that more Missouri pioneers are not listed may be due to the fact that Webb was writing some eighty years after the Missouri contingent had left Kentucky. My line, Frances Drury, who married Joseph Tucker, descends from John Drury and Susannah Hayden, from Saint Mary's county, Maryland. John Drury's three daughters migrated west from Maryland, into Kentucky and on into Illinois and Perry county Missouri. I hope some of this info helps you.
