P Gordell declares he (Zach)is a rough carpenter with a large family. Has sickly sons, eldest was exempted from mustering and the next is in very delicate health. He has 45 acres of poor land. His wife is 50, 3 sons aged 24, 22 and 17 live with them, unable to care for themselves. Thomas Bowles declares Zach Bowles served 3 yrs lacking 5 days. Steven Anderson declares Zach was in John Dandridge's Co for 3 years.On 22 Mar 1821 Richmond, VA. Zach Bowles applies for new pension cert. Zachariah Bowles: Pension Cert # 14397, File S39,201.
