David Bowles did have a brother, Gideon Bowles. Capt. David Bowles served in the Revolution War from Henrico County, Virginia. Gideon Bowles also served. Gideon married Ann Charity Hughes or Charity Ann Hughes; David's first wife was Sarah Hughes, who I suspect was Charity's sister. Sarah apparently died after giving birth to Jesse Bowles. David died in 1806 in Bourbon County, Kentucky, his Will being probated. Gideon and his family moved to the Missouri area after the Revolutionary War and were politicians, doctors and lawyers. Benjamin Bowles was the father of David Bowles and Gideon Bowles. Margo Bowles leathel@sbcglobal.net wrote: We know the William Bowles in 1820 had at least 4 sons. Ralph wrote that William and Sally Preston had two sons David and Edmond? I think someone has William Bowles that married Nancy Bolling as a son of Gideon Bowles? I also have a David Bowles who married Elizabeth Clowers 20 May 1803 in Franklin Co. David and Elizabeth migrated to Greene County TN.I don't remember Gideon Bowles having a son David, so did William Bowles that married Sally Preston have a brother David? I believe Gideon Bowles had a brother named David, who died in Bourbon Co,Ky. Think about it.
