JAMES HUBERT [Myrtle Mae Raper] ALLEN Funeral services were held at 11 am Saturday, July 5, 1986 in Faith Baptist Church, for Mrs. Myrtle Mae Raper Allen, 66, who died Wednesday, July 2, in Sumter Regional Hospital, Americus, Ga. The Rev. Delmer Lester officiated and burial was in CEDAR VALLEY BAPTIST CHURCH CEMETERY. Mrs. Allen was born June 15, 1920 in Floyd County, a daughter of John Van Raper and Julia Mae Barnes Raper. She resided in Macon County for most of her life, was a member of Cedar Valley Baptist Church and the retired owner of Allen's Grocery. Survivors are her husband, James Hubert Allen of Oglethorpe; a daughter, Mrs. Larry Gene Longino of Oglethorpe; a son, Charles William Allen of Conroe, Tesas; a sister, Mrs. Ruby Murphy of Rochelle Park, N. J.; a brother, Alonza Raper of Reynolds, eight grandchildren. Pallbearers were Steven Anderson, Ronnie Longino, Leon Thompson, Earl Mainor, Sam Wright and A. L. Bowles.
