Wayne, I will post what I have on Thomas Bowles of Orange Co. NC. The chart below is taken from a combination of primary sources and secondary sources. I have the Revolutionary War records of Thomas Bowles who was married to Nancy/Anne Davis. In his pension application, he states that his family moved to NC from Pennsylvania when he was a child. This Bowles line appears to have traveled south with the migration of Scots-Irish out of Pennsylvania. Many of the names associated with this family are Scots-Irish and the area where they settled in Orange Co. was full of Scots-Irish settlers. I will also copy below a transcription of the will of Thomas Bowles (father of the Revolutionary War soldier), a letter from Thomas Bowles' pension file and the transcription from the cemetery in Alamance Co. where members of this family are buried. A lot more research needs to be done of this family. I suspect they are related to a John Bowles who also appeared in Orange Co. about the same time as Thomas. I have some information on that line also and will post in another message.
