The only place I can come up with is an area called Wirtz in Franklin Co. A child from this family was named William MANASSAH BOWLES. Has MANASSAH come up in any of your research on the Bowles? In William Manassah Bowles' will, written in Rocky Mount, Franklin Co., VA. Chappie BOWLES is a signature witness for William. Seems I have the following choices: (Can you rule any of these out?)
