    3. I believe this Judge Boles is Judge William Mullins Bowles, a descendant of Gideon Bowles, through the Anderson, Caleb line, in Perry, Oklahoma. His granddaughter, Jean Bowles, is a close friend of mine, and a distant cousin. Her grandfather came into Oklahoma with the run of 1889, and rode a train from Missouri until it stopped at the land run site, Perry. He opened his practice in Perry and was one of the first judges in Oklahoma. I think he died in about 1944 at his office desk. He practiced with his on, Samuel Edward (or Edward Samuel). After his father's death, his son never practiced again and was happy as a rural mail carrier. His picture is in a photograph of the individual judges in Oklahoma at statehood, 1907. He was a distinguished looking fellow. His son, "Ed" had 7 children, one with his first wife, which ended in divorce, name of the child unknown, and had 6 children with his second wife, Marjorie Laird Bowles, namely James, John, Joe, Jane "Ann," Jean Frances and Janet Alice.
