This must be Robert Finley Bowles, son of James Oscar Bowles and his wife Della Anne Ferrell. James Oscar's parents were Oscar Pinkney Bowles and Margaret Morrison. O. P. Bowles was the first of my relatives to move to Texas, going from Lafayette Co., Miss., to Caldwell Co., Texas by 1853. He served in the Texas State Troops during the Civil War, married, and settled in Bryan, where he was a cotton buyer. He and Margaret both died when their children were young. James Oscar worked for the railroad. He is buried in Mart Cemetery. His tombstone is pictured on the FindaGrave site, along with his obit. http://www.findagrave.com/cgi-bin/fg.cgi?page=gr&GSln=Bowles&GSfn=James&GSmn=o&GSby=1871&GSbyrel=in&GSdy=1942&GSdyrel=in&GSst=46&GScntry=4&GSob=n&GRid=6844511& The WWI Draft Registration card for Robert Findley Bowles said he was born 4 Aprl 1892 in Rockdale, TX, was a brakeman for the railroad in Mart, was not married and was missing 3 toes on his left foot. His death certificate gave his date of death as 23 Oct. 1964. His occupation was maintenance, oil field supplies; he was married; his parents were J. O. Bowles and Della Ferrell; he died in Houston, and was buried in Mount Olivet Cemetery in Fort Worth. This is a collateral line and this is all I know about him.
