Academy Street, died Wednesday, July 29, 2009, at his home. A graveside service will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, at Mayodan Municipal Cemetery, with Reverend Darrell Boles officiating. Mr. Coltrane was born on June 19, 1934, in Guilford County. He was retired from Burlington Industries. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Allen Coltrane and Chartiy Elizabeth Corners Coltrane. He is survived by his wife, Gail Ore Coltrane; children, Edwin "Eddie" Coltrane Jr. of Madison, William Coltrane of Walnut Cove, and Susan Coltrane of Conway, S.C.; brothers, James Coltrane and Jerry Coltrane, both of High Point, and two grandchildren, Justin and Brandon. The family will receive friends from 2 until 3 p.m. on Sunday, August 2, at the funeral home, and all other times at the residence. Ray Funeral Home is serving the family.
