Hello all...back in early September this year I received information on a search that led me to the Bowles. Since then I have been trying to find proof of my link. This last week I seemed to have found several links in one document....Thomas Bowles will...1783...Henrico Co,Va. Or, actually an indenture 26 Nov 1817 in Henrico Co,Va. Deed Book 17, 1818. I'll share just a bit of it to lay the groundwork for my query: ...being that part of the land of Thomas Bowles deceased in said county which was assigned to the heirs of his sister Mary Winn deceased wife of John WINN, deceased which heirs of the said Mary are the said Thomas WINN, the children of Hardin Davis by his wife Eliza now deceased, Mary the wife of the said Twyman Wayt, Lucy the wife of the said Daniel Edwards the said Joseph Winn, the said Jesse Winn and Nancy the wife of the said William T. Austin upon a division of the said Thomas Bowles between the heirs of the said Mary WINN and the heirs of Sarah Cawthorn another sister of said Thomas Bowles deceased... Even though I haven't seen the will or the indenture for myself yet, this is the best proof I have that I am from Mary Bowles (sister of this Thomas Bowles) who married John Winn...and from their daughter Elizabeth Winn who married Hardin Davis. So now I feel secure in beginning my search for Bowles. If any of you out there have information to share on this line of Bowles that would be great.
