She was the daughter of the late Luther A. Bowles and Georgia Alice Puckett Bowles. Preceded in death by her brother, Luther C. Bowles, and by her daughters Georgia Carol and Mildred Bishop. Survived by son, Thomas and wife (Susan) and by her two brothers, Raymond Bowles and Marvin Bowles; she is also survived by a grandson Joseph and two great-grandchildren (Andrew and Travis). She was a wonderful sister, mother, grand- and great-grandmother. She is loved and missed by us. May graduated from Merritt JC with an AA degree, Lone Mountain College with a BA and Pepperdine University with a MA in Education. During her career, she taught fourth grade at the Oakland Unified School District, giving her all to her students for over 14 years. Her wish was to have no services, so any remembrances may be made to a charity of your choice. Interment will be at North San Juan Protestant Cemetery in Nevada County.
