Occupation: maintenance man, railroad, Chicago Rapid Transit 9. Birthplace: Tippenary, Ireland 10. Name of Father: James Bowles 11. Birthplace of Father: Tippenary, Ireland 12. Maiden Name of Mother: Ellen McCornick 13. Birthplace of Mother: Tippenary, Ireland 14. Informant: Mrs. Margaret Bowles, 3103 Congress Street 15. Filed: 1928 Jul 10, 12:06 P.M. 16.     3. Hi Folks It's unfortunate that you found the wrong John Bowles as I could have told you a bit about him if he had been the right one. The one you found was indeed born in Tipperary (recorded as Tippenary in the posting), at New Inn, Tipperary in fact just northwest of Cahir. His father was James Bowles and his mother was Ellen McCormack (McCornack in the posting) or Ellen Cormac in the Irish references. James and Ellen were married April 24, 1879 at Garranlea near New Inn. James and his father George (his mother was Margaret Ahearn) were coachmen for the Cooney family of Garranlea. There are descendants of that line still living in Tipperary who have told me that James and Ellen's son Jack (John) left for Chicago but they didn't know anything about him after that. This family is on my web site at http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.ancestry.com/~bowlesfamily/the_bowles_of _new_inn.htm So your miss was a hit for someone else who is going to be quite pleased by this discovery. Hi again I would really appreciate it if you could also post anything that you find on this John Bowles (from Tipperary) in Chicago while you're continuing your search for your correct John Bowles.
