    1. [BOWLES] James B. Bowles, Blair County PA
    2. Charles Hartley
    3. James B. Bowles is described on three different pages, which are generally in agreement with one another (with a few exceptions). You should view each page. http://files.usgwarchives.org/pa/blair/bios/jnt/bowlesjbpen.txt http://files.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/bios/wiley/wiley09.txt http://files.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/bios/sell/bo-bu.txt >From those pages we learn that James was a son of Robert and Jane (Ross) Bowles, and that his grandfather was a John Bowles from Scotland. I've found James with his wife and family in the 1880 and 1900 censuses as shown below. 1880 Federal Census: Pennsylvania, Blair County, Logan Township, page 426C household 93/99 Bowles, Jas.
