She was a member of Franklin Springs Pentecostal Holiness Church. She attended Holmes Bible College in Greenville, South Carolina and retired as an Operator from Southern Bell Telephone Company in Mobile, Alabama. Rachel was preceded in death by her parents, Troy and Saloan Hennis Shelton, Stokes County, North Carolina; her husband of 52 years, Kenneth A. Dantzler; sister, Avis Bowles of Winston Salem, NC; brothers, Thomas Shelton- High Point, NC, James, John O., and Clavis, all of Walnut Cove, NC. She is survived by her loving and devoted family: daughters and son-in-law, Barbara and Bob Spence, and Leta Ethlyn Dantzler; grandchildren, Kim Fuller, Kelley Jones and husband Steve, all of Knoxville; Kenny Spence and wife Sandy, of Aiken, SC; great grandchildren, Robby Fuller, Rob Jones, Sydney Jones, DJ Spence, Abby Spence; sister, Dura Carter of ! Wilmington, NC; brothers and sisters-in-law, Cecil and Nancy Shelton of Walnut Cove, NC; Chester and Sandra Shelton of Westfield, NC and several nieces and nephews. The Family will receive friends on February 29 from 6:00pm-8:00pm at Pruitt Funeral Home in Royston, Georgia. A graveside service will be held at 11:00am on March 1 at Franklin Springs Cemetery, Franklin Springs, Georgia.
