Rodford McDonald on Monday, Jan. 9. Interment was in Brookside Cemetery. Mrs. Phillips was born in Taylor County on Dec. 12, 1863, the daughter of the late Joe Daniel and Mary Fannie Robinson Williams, and died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. H. A. Bowles, Sr. at Spurlington on Saturday, Jan. 7, after a long illness. She was a member of the Mt. Zion Methodist Church. She united in marriage to the late E. B. Phillips on Feb. 3, 1881, and to this union five daughters were born. Mrs. Maud Hogan preceded her mother in death in 1955. Surviving are Mrs. H. A. Bowles, Sr., Mrs. George Sapp, and Mrs. Morris Cox, all of Route 6, city; and Mrs. Everett Warren of Summersville in Green County. She is also survived by twenty-four grandchildren, thirty-two great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren. She was the last surviving member of a family of 6. Pallbearers were Jo! e Hogan, Virgil Bowles, Thelbert Hogan, Floyd Sapp, Ray Bowles, and Wickliffe Cox.
