Right now the only connection we have is that John William Bayles was living with her sister Kitty Hildreth Cogar on the 1860 and 1870 census....we know from family stories that after JWB was orphaned he went to live with his aunt, we believe as of date November 26, 2004, that Kitty Cogar was the aunt the sister to Eveline, his mother....more research is needed. (Cannot find any proof of this story MFB) John William came to Hudson Illinois looking for work as a young man and worked for Mr. Funk of Shirley, Illinois and Mr. Birkey of Hudson, Illinois...went back to get marrie in Clark co., Ky., married Mattie green in 1887, raised 4 children in Ky and then came back to Hudson Illinois around 1891 and eventually to Kansas township in Woodford co., Illinois Life of John William Bayles as told by his daughter Luna Bayles George: Orphaned at 3 or 4 years old, raised by a aunt in TN (?), could write his name only after his children taught him how to, could not read or write, married in Winchester, Ky, he remembers his mother had long dark hair and dark complexion, he said his mother was French.
