W. H. (Marion Frost) KEENAN, age 81, a native Houstonian, passed away Monday, November 6, 2000. Mrs. Keenan received her BA degree from Rice University in 1941. Mrs. Keenan was very active at Rice University, serving on the Board of the Rice Alumni Assoc., Vice Pres. of Rice Alumni Assoc., 5 time member of the Homecoming Committee Class of '41, Rice Associate, President's Club, Established the William Howard Keenan and Marion Frost Keenan Fellowships at Jones Graduate School, Season Ticket Holder (football) since 1937, WWII American Red Cross Volunteer, Junior League of Houston member, President River Oaks Blossom Club, President Southern Garden Club, Co-Chair Mother's Guild of St. John's School, member of River Oaks Country Club and the Huisache Club. Mrs. Keenan is survived by her daughter Carolyn Frost Keenan of Houston, TX; son Wm. Howard Keenan, Jr. of New York, NY; grandchildren Mary Glenn Keenan, Wm. Howard Keenan, III and Lillie Carmichael Keenan of New York, NY; and numerous cousins in Houston, TX. Friends are invited to visitation with the family in the Drawing Room of The Settegast-Kopf Co., 3320 Kirby Drive, on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2000 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Funeral Services will be conducted in The Settegast-Kopf Chapel, 3320 Kirby Drive, on Thursday, Nov. 9, 2000 at 11:00 am with Rev. M. Eugene Vickrey officiating. Interment will follow at Glenwood Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ward N. Adkins, Dr. A. E. Groff, Thomas G. Jameson, John A. Adkins, Dr. Vernon Colpitts, Dr. Richard E. Martin, Charles F. Sullivan, and E. Ashley Smith . Honorary pallbearers will be Peter K. Jameson, Albert Bowles, Billy L. Alexander, Don A. Sanders, Key Collie, Robin French, Peter Wareing, Gregg Ring, Robert Y. Reynolds, Earl Shouse, Alvin L. Freeman, F. Scott Glover, IV, Robert L. Sult, Jr., and Randy Geiselman. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Marion Frost Keenan Fellowship at Jones Graduate School, Rice University, or Friends of Bayou Bend, P.O. Box 6826, Houston, TX 77265.
