We have new results in and the potential for a match. Kit #34109 is an 11/12 match with Kit #31906. Ordinarily we would be very cautious about this until we have further results, but this time both of these claim the same early ancestors - William and Sarah (Gum) Bowles. It may be possible that the mismatch on marker #2 is the result of a mutation in the gene. I'm sure both participants are eager to see the results of the remaining markers (13-25) to see how well they match. Perhaps now would be a good time for me to remind everyone of my policy on sharing information. Whether you are a participant or not, I cannot share the identity of a participant without that person's permission. Once a match is found, Family Tree DNA automatically informs the matching participants of the match and provides each with the other's email address. However, if you wish to be put in direct contact with a participant, what you must do is contact me and request that I forward your name and email address to that participant with a request that he contact you. It will be up to him to follow up. Thanks, Charlie Hartley Bowles DNA Project Administrator [mailto:hartley@iglou.com]
