John Bowles who died in 1664 in Elizabeth City Co, Va patented 350 ac land in Norfolk Co, Va in 1625. He granted this land to his son in law Richard Jones in 1655. Richard Jones then assigned this land to Richard Bowles and John Waite ( Richard Bowles his son, John Waite, son of his wife Anne). In John's Will 1664 he willed everything to his son John. His son John married Margey Battin in Charles Co, Md and made will 1675 (the patent was renewed October 12, 1675). That means a transfer from John Bowles to John Bowles. This John Bowles was married to Mary Jane Scott. John and Jane son John was born 1686 not old enough for the land to be renewed to him when his father died in 1695. This land then went back to Henry Bowles son of John Bowles who died 1664.Henry gave half this land to his half brother John Waite, the other half to sons John and Thomas.
