Yes, Randi, Black Bart was quite a character, all right! Perhaps the moral of his story is that if you're going to be a robber/poet, make sure that there are no tell-tale laundry marks in your clothing. I don't know if any of our current members are in Black Bart's family tree; we haven't discussed him in quite a while.
