It's a noble undertaking to hunt for Underhills. ; -) Here's a message that I have to repeat every once in a while: that those double broken lines that you see above each posting that I do ======================== means that I received them from RootsWeb's Personalized Mailing List. I go through the batch that they send me every day and throw out the ones that we've already seen or which don't pertain to us. Then I write to the ones that have new names and addresses, inviting them to join us. Here's the important part: Many of the people I write to decline to join the Bowles list. They may be concentrating on only one surname or ancestor at the moment, and feel that they'd be sidetracked by anything else. Or Boles or Bowles is only one among a great many surnames which exist in their tree. If they don't subscribe to our list, they can neither post to it nor read anything that our members write to them via the list. So you have to write to them directly. I always include their address in a posting that I send to the Bowles list, for that reason. The Underhills that you're responding to are from a posting where the sender declined to join us, so you'll have to write to him directly. Her daughter Jane Boles? was living in Carthage in the 1900 census. Elizabeth is listed in the 1900 in Carthage and was staying with Charles and Lulu Stratton. I believe Lulu Stratton is the daughter of Jane Boles and granddaughter of Elizabeth Stratton. I am hoping some of the descendants of Elizabeth Underhill can tell me the death date and place of their cousins Eugene and Azalia (Cady) Underhill who lived in Cherokee County Iowa in the 1880 Iowa census. I found Elizbeth and her husband Sam settled in Cherokee County, Iowa about 1876. Mr. Underhill died in 1881. I believe Elizabeth moved to Miner SD in 1890s. Boles and Stratton are listed in the 1910 Oregon census and in the Oregon death index. Jane Boles died 08 Apr 1927 in Marion Co., OR; her death certificate is number 298. Any help wuld be appreciated ===================
