Hello Mary. How nice to hear from you. I'm interested in all Boles and Bowles in Canada. Really they are probably the same family going back to Ireland. Very few Irish emigrants of the early 1800's knew how to write their names and so became Boles/Bowles/Boalles/Bowls/Boulls/etc. almost anything similar. I am working on a family now that first appeared in Quebec City as Boalles, in Ontario the same family was recorded as Boal but the next generation used Bole except for one brother who used Boiles. I have only a little information on the Boles of New Brunswick. I have brothers Thomas Boles b. 1791 Ireland; John Boles; William Boles (who married in 1832); Skelton b. 1816; Robert b. 1809; Hugh b. 1781 and sisters Mary, Margaret, Elizabeth and Sarah. That was from an Irish in New Brunswick web site. I would love to see the text of the will which you mention and any more family information which you have from the 1800's. I will be building the Bowles in the Maritimes pages some time and would like to include your information if you don't mind sharing. > > From: WCTAGALONG@aol.com > Date: 2005/06/04 Sat PM 05:35:28 CDT > To: BOWLES-L@rootsweb.com > Subject: Re: Bowles in Canada web site > > HELLO TOM > > Your story of how you started looking for dear old grandpa is almost > identical to yours.
