    2. On the 1860 Federal Census of Monroe County, Kentucky, the following BOWLES are listed. Note, the census writer spelled all BOWLES as BOLES. Also note that the page numbers correspond to the page listed on the Ancestry website census. Household Names 860/876 Elijah Boles 30, M, Farmer, KY (Pg 125) Emaline 22, F, KY Clayton 6, M, KY J. ? 30, M, Farm Laborer, TN 886/895 Thos Boles 25, M, Farmer, KY (Pg 127) R.A. 24, F, TN 905/917 Clifton Boles 28, M, Blacksmith, KY (Pg 130) Lydia 23, F, KY R.A. 10, F, KY Martha 8, F, KY Melonie (?) 6, F, KY Note: I found this Clifton Bowles on the 1850 Federal Census for Monroe County in the family next to Martha Bowles. I think Clifton may have been a brother to Elijah and Thomas, see 1850 census for this family below. 1039/1051 Martha Boles 50, F, KY (Pg 148) W.B. 23, M, Farmer, KY On the 1860 Census of Monroe County, Kentucky in the family adjacent to Martha Bowles? family including sons Elijah and Thomas I found Clifford Bowles.
