Recently, there was some discussion about a Joshua Bowles, son of a Benjamin Bowles and a Nancy Unknown. I have searched all over for a Joshua Bowls or Bowles and am wondering if my Joshua and this Joshua, son of Benjamin are one and the same. My Joshua died before 1780 (he was listed in a will as having two sons. I found those two sons on the Tax List for Henry County. One was named John and the other James. The only other Joshua I can find was in New England and was still alive in 1782. So, that is not him. My Joshua married Sarah Rowland in Henry County, Virginia and apparently lived there at some time with the grandparents John Rowland b. abt 1675 and Elizabeth Hampton Rowland b. abt 1690 (both born in James City, Virginia?). They settled in Henry Co., Virginia and had two sons named Andrew and Benjamin. Andrew is the father of Sarah who married Joshua Bowles (listed in the will as Bowls). Now I am beginning to believe that this Joshua may go back to the John Bowles who came over with Sir Francis Wyatt. Never thought this information might apply to my line but can someone tell me the lastest on these John Bowles lines or where I might find it? Please! More mystery, Anne
