JUST POSTING THE OBITUARY ON ALICE BAKER FROM THE MIDDLETOWN (OH) JOURNAL 6/16/08 Alice Bowles Baker, Age 83 of Franklin, OH passed away June 14, 2008 at The Atrium Medical Center. She was born September 3, 1924 in McKee, KY the daughter of Harvey and Martha Bowles. She was a substitute teacher in Madison County, KY, worked at Franklin Manor Nursing Home and did private care nursing for many years, voted church mother of the year three times, actively involved in nursing home ministry, volunteer for the Warren County Community services receiving several service awards. Her most treasured accomplishment in life was being a loving mother and grandmother. She is preceded in death by her husband Mariel; her biological parents Harvey and Martha Bowles, Elisha and Hannah Baker who raised her all of her life; a daughter, Carol Davidson; seven brothers, Jesse Bowles, Willie Bowles, Chester Bowles, George Bowles, Willie Baker, Andy Baker, and Everett Baker; and six sisters, Edna Angle, Grace Harles, Anna Gilbert, Rosetta Sparks, Stella Hensley, and Lillie Baker and a special nephew, Ralph Bowles. Alice is survived by two sons, Earl S. Baker (Sherry) of Middletown, OH and Roy Baker (Amy) of Powell, OH; a daughter, Sharon Haney (Larry) of Middletown; eleven grandchildren, Lori Klinefelter, Heather Haney, Jeremy Davidson, Melissa Draut, Rebecca Montgomery, Nicole Baker, Kory Baker, Katherine Rogers, Julie Potter, Carmen Lamb, and Dexter Baker. She is also survived by seventeen great grandchildren; a special niece and nephew, Kenneth Baker and Betty Lou Bell; a close friend, Bonnie Weaver. Funeral service will be June 19, 2008 at 10:00 am at Franklin Baptist Church (160 Deardoff Rd., Franklin, OH) with Rev Ethan Daves officiating. Visitation will be June 18, 2008 from 5-8 at Anderson Funeral Home (1357 E. 2nd Street, Franklin, OH) Burial will be in Springboro Cemetery.
