Farris of the Red Fern Community, died at her home at 6:10 a.m., Sunday, March 17, after a long illness. Funeral services were held at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 19, from the Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home with the Rev. Marshall Black in charge of the services, assisted by the Rev. J. Chester Badgett. Burial was in Brookside Cemetery. She professed faith in Christ at an early age and was a member of the Palestine Baptist Church. Mrs. Farris united in marriage to Mr. Robert H. Farris in 1896. He preceded her in death, June 24, 1951. To this union four sons and four daughters were born. They are Omer and Hubert Farris, Mrs. Marie Franklin, Mrs. Herman Stubbs, and Mrs. Robert Bridges, all of Campbellsville; Mrs. Edward Buster of Lebanon; Mr. Samuel Farris of Louisville; and Robert Farris of Rockford, Illinois. She also leaves one brother, Mr. John Bowles of this city, 10 grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren ! and many other relatives. Pallbearers were: Ezra Smith, W. C. Mitchell, Ancel Romine, Willie Rose, Charles Richerson, and Troy Shanklin.
