Jane Gray ([email protected]) comments about her posting to the Fayette Co., IL list: "Regarding the Bowles-Harris marriage, I found it under Illinois Marriages 1851-1900 on Ancestry.com. It says they were married in Montgomery County, adjacent to Fayette County. Date of marriage Sep 18, 1854. In the 1860 Montgomery County census Wm Lourey- Lowry age 10 was living with John Bowles, Kesiah, Lovida and not sure of the name of the other son. It was image #5 on Ancestry and looks like Litchfield Illinois PO." ===================================================================== Match: Bowles Source: [email protected] From: "Jane Gray" <[email protected]> Subject: [ILFAYETT] Lowry, Isaac S (lowrie-lowrey) Looking for information on Isaac S Lowry (Lowrie) born 1827 in TN per 1850 census, married Nancy A Harris in Fayette County. Isaac is son of Eli Lowry - Eli owned a tract of land in Ramsey Twp in 1849 where he lived at the 1850 census - lived in Shelby Co in 1860 - lived in Ramsey, Fayette Co in 1870. Isaac & Nancy A had children William born 1850, Kesiah 1852, Martha 1855 and Jane born 1857. By 1860 all children all living among Nancy (Harris) Lowry's siblings in Montgomery and Christian Counties. Isaac & Nancy missing in 1860 census. Isaac S Lowry joined Company B of the 66th Illinois Infantry at Ramsey October 11, 1861 and was discharged at Corinth MS Jun 30, 1862. Isaac missing in 1870 census. I'm assuming Nancy died after 1857 and children were taken in by her brother, Mancil Harris & wife, and her sister Kisiah Harris & husband John Bowles. Looking for death or burial records on Nancy A (Harris) Lowry and Isaac Lowry (Lowrie) who may have died before 1870 from injuries in the Civil War. Does anyone know if Guardianship records from late 1850's or early 1860's are in court records of Fayette Co? Jane Gray [email protected] ========================================================
