I know almost nothing at all of my Hicks ancestors. Here is what I do have. I hope someone notices a family connection. I know that my Andrew Hicks married a Martha (Mattie) Rhea Bowles. At some point Andrew Hicks and Mattie (Bowles) Hicks lived in or near Bath, Colorado about 1899 when their daughter Lena was born. After that they were in Coffey County, Kansas (and possibly were in KS before CO too). Then Lena Hicks married a Garrett and they were living in Loveland, Larimer, CO in 1924. I'd really like to identify this Andrew Hicks. He must have been born about 1865, give or take a few years. I believe he has lived in KY, Coffey Co. KS, and Bath Co. His wife later lived in CA, but I have know idea when or where Andrew Hicks died. 1. ANDREW1 HICKS was born in Kentucky. He married MARTHA RHEA BOWLES, daughter of JEHU BOWLES and MARTHA PATTERSON. The timeline for him is as follows: about 1865 born in Kentucky about 1890 married Mattie (Martha) Rhea Bowles unknown location 31 March 1893 Living in MO, where son Homer was born 17 Sept 1899 Living in Bath, CO where daughter Lena was born ??????????? I also believe he lived in Kansas at some point, possibly Coffey County. I have no proof of that. Does the KY->MO->CO/KS-> CA migration pattern fit with any of your Hicks families? Don't know when or where they were married. They have a son, Homer Lawrence Hicks, b. March 31, 1893 who stated on his SS-5 application that his birthplace was Gentryville, MO. According to modern maps there are TWO Gentryville, MO--one in the southern part of the state, and one in the northern part of the state. Do any of you have Hicks ancestry/connections in the late 1800s in MO? Any from Gentryville?
