"MRS. HIRAM BOWLES WAS BURIED TODAY. Mrs. Hiram Bowles, 73, died at her home at Morrison Park Wednesday afternoon, after an illness of twomonths. Mrs. Bowles' death is attributed to complications following an illness, measles, and paralysis. "Mrs. Bowles was born in the Oleoak section, August 5, 1863. She was Judy Pursley before her marriage to Mr. Bowles on October 2, 1890. Early in life Mrs. Bowles confessed her faith in her Master and had abeen a devout member of the Methodist church. She was a devoted wife and mother, a kind neighbor and friend, and her consecrated influence for good was felt by all with whom she came in contact. "Beside her husband, one son survives, Esq. J. H. Bowles of Morrison Park, and one brother, Mr. J. J. Pursley. "Funeral services were conducted at the Bethel Methodist Church this afternoon at 4 o'clock by Rev. R.W. Raaf and burial was in the Barbour burying ground." Unknown Glasgow KY newspaper.
