    2. Leathel, I for one would like to do DNA, maybe we could sort out the various Bowles lines . or consolidate them. My line is William Bowles B N.C. 1785. Married Sarah Elizabeth Gum, Born Ky. They were married 1807 Madison Co. Ky. The area that they were living in became Clay Co. Ky. Later it became Owsley Co. Ky. The majority of their offspring, till world war 2, lived and died in probably a 40 mile radius of where William & Sarah lived. I have William & Sarah Bowles descendants documented. I have not been able to track down William's parents.

    3. Bowles List, I would be willing to participate in a DNA group if someone wants to organize the effort. I have a Barsheba Bowles of Orange County, NC in 1805 that I can not trace. There are several laboratories that do DNA and each has a few differences. Is there some consensus on the best one to use?
