In the 1870 Montgomery County KS (Independence) census I find the following family: W. C. Bowles, age 40, farmer, with his wife S. A. Bowles, age 37, and the following children: Adala, age 13; Walter, age 10; Lewis, age 8; Newton, age 6; and Harry, age 4. Also living with the family is John Bowles, age 21. All of these are shown as having been born in Kentucky. I believe that the son Walter may have been in Grant County OK in 1900, married to Naomi, with four children: Clara, Arthur, Ruth, and Gertie. Can anyone identify this family? Charlie

Charlie, I've tried to contact you directly via your address you gave us (hartley@iglou.com), and both times my message to you has bounced back to me. Any clues about that? Very best, Linne >In the 1870 Montgomery County KS (Independence) census I find the >following family: W. C. Bowles, age 40, farmer, with his wife S.
