In Thomas M. Farquhar's Book, called "History of the Bowles Family" he states, John Bowles, the 3rd., had grandsons, Benjamin, David, Thomas, John, William, and grand daughter, Eliza Betty, or Elizabeth. He goes on to say they attended the wedding of Fanny Turnstall to Pierce Bradly. This wedding occurred in May 1723. I believe these children are indeed children of Benjamin and Nancy M. Bowles, but how can they be grand children of John, 3rd., aren't they grand children of John 2nd.? From the dates I have come up with, Benjamin was b. ca. 1726, David was b. ca.1730, Thomas b. ca.1717, I have no birth dates for William, John, or Eliza Betty. My question is if the birthdates I have are in the ballpark, how could they have attended a wedding in 1723? Leatrice Wagner - leagene@cox.net
