Soft cover, 5-3/8x8-1/2, 56 pages, this is a new book in new book condition. It contains some marriages that were omitted in the first printing. This is a wonderful book of marriages, wills and other records of these counties. The print is small, however, (otherwise would have had many more pages) and there is no index. These are really nice abstracts, with the marriages coming from minister's returns, bonds and miscellaneous sources. About 6,000 newlyweds are included, along with the date of marriage, names of parents and/or sureties. The will abstracts give the name of the testator, date of the instrument or probate date, and the names of the heirs. I see one will that states that the testator was left the land by his father, of Smith County, Tennessee, and the land is to go to his brothers. Sale dates are sometimes given, along with other little tidbits of information. For a small, inexpensive book, it is just crammed with records.
