In files of his estate papers is a bill for his coffin dated 29 Aug l 836. His wife Margaret Brown Boles Thompson and son-in-law, John Hirston w ere the Administrators of the sale of his real estate. Packet No. 52. During the Civil War Margaret lived with her daughter, Sarah Brown Thompson Watters, in the Kahatchee community 5 miles North of Fayetteville, AL , Talladega County. My records other than the above on this THOMPSON family, came from a THOMPSON Bible passed down in the POOL family. Phillip Whitfield THOMPSON's first wife was Susan BUTLER, not Margaret BOWLES. Philip W. THOMPSON lived in GA before migrating to AL where he married Margaret (BOWLES) BROWN (widow), according to AL records. Notes for MARGARET BOWLES: Margaret BOWLES was a widow BROWN from my notes of GA records. Some researchers state otherwise, and that her mother was a BROWN, therefore Margaret was Margaret Brown BOWLES. However, Margaret had at least one daughter named BROWN.
