Does anyone know anything about the genealogy of the author Emily Bowles of England in the mid-1800's who wrote such books as "The History of England", "Irish Diamonds" and "A Sister's Story"? She was an active member of the Oxford Movement in England which was a move from the Church of England back towards Catholic doctrine which was a very brave position to take in the mid-1800's. I just obtained an 1865 copy of Irish Diamonds, have found it fascinating reading and would like to know if she is connected to any of "our" Bowles in any way. As a Catholic Sister herself later its unlikely she had descendants but I saw one reference to her coming from a large family. Tom LaPorte
