I have done a little more research on this John Bowles who died about 1796. I don't know if this Thomas Bowles who married Grace Jeffrey had anything to do with John Bowles or not, it sure looks like it could? We know that IF Thomas is a son of John then this John is not John and Mary from Middlesex Co, because their Thomas was born 1744. NOW if John and Thomas were brothers, were they brothers to Benjamin (Will 1780 NC)? Anybody got a handle on Thomas and Grace Bowles? Is Jeffrey Bowles their son? Jerminah Wade receives 172 acres. 1800 the 229 acres go to Jeffree Bowles. 1801 Jeffree increases to 260 acres. 1804 sells 100 acres to George Bowles. 1806 Jeffree has 365 acres. 1810 Thomas F Bowles gets 125 acres from Jeffree Bowles Estate, which makes Thomas a total of 225 acres. 1812 Sarah gets 2 acres from Benjamin, making her a total of 42 acres adjoining Thomas. 2 miles sw of court house.
