Leathel, You've got the families mixed up. William Boles (b: abt 1770 in Stokes co., NC; d: May 1849 in Surry co., NC; md: (1) 14 Dec 1798 in Stokes co., NC, Bethsy Redock (Reddick) d: before 1820 in NC; md: (2) 1 Feb 1822 in Surry co., NC, Aeley Rainwaters b: 1780? in NC; d: aft. 1860. He was the son of John Boles and the grandson of William Bools/Boles who settled in what became Stokes co., NC. There does seem to be a close relation ship between the sons of John Boles and the Jarvis family as they appear in several documents. I believe the William Bowles who married Sally Stanly is actually William Boyles, part of a family living in Surry co. often confused with the William Boles family of Neatman Creek before Stokes county split off from Surry co.
