I had to laugh when I read about the Bowles men going their own way and the women going to church. It was very much that way in the Blacksburg, VA area when I married Sammy P. Bowles (b. 1927, d. 1989) in 1967. His brother Clyde Bowles (b. 1923, d. 1975) and his wife were that way as well. I was accepted a bit like a leper since I was from CT. Time changes slowly in some areas.
