I think a Burch married one of Gideon Bowles children. The name Obediah runs in the Howard family, as well as Bowles. Now Somewhere If I remember Correctly in the history of St. Thomas Church when it discusses Edward Howard does it every say Thomas Howard was his only son? If Edward Howard had other sons any children they had would be Nieces and Nephews of Thomas Howard, but they would all carry the name Howard, but If Thomas Howard had sisters then his Nieces and Nephews of his Sister or Sisters, would carry the Surname of who they Married. What I never noticed before is that Mary Cissell is the Niece of Thomas Howard, which means that Thomas Howard had a Sister (don't know her name) who married a ? Cissell, and they had a daughter Mary Cissell. Anybody got any idea of a possibility of a female ? Howard who married a ? Cissell? No wonder the Cissell Family has close ties to Howard Family. James Howard is supposed to be a brother to Edward Howard whose son Thomas Howard (has a Mary Cissell for a niece) William Vessells married Elizabeth "Betsy" Mills (anyone know her parents) Thomas Vessells (don't know if or who he married) James Vessells married Eleanor Mattingly daughter of Joseph f. Mattingly and Hessina Hinton. Benjamin Vessells ann Drury(does anyone know her parents) John Vessells married Mary Peterson daughter of Henry Peterson and Olivia Smock her brother Henry Smock was either a witness on will of John Baptist Howard or his brother James Howard who married Mary Jackson. John Baptist Cissell and 2nd wife Ann ? had a daughter Mary Cissell and she married Charles Howard son of John Baptist Howard and Elizabeth Johnson, But I don't think Thomas Howard was referring to that Mary Cissell as his Niece, because She was already married to Charles Howard by the time his will was probated, unless he made his will before date of Marriage of Mary Cissell to Charles Howard. Peter Cissell married an Eleanor ? they had a daughter Mary Cissell who married John Hanson Burch on 14 Sept 1811 in Nelson County, Ky This is after date that Thomas Howard's will was Probated. Is this The Mary Cissell Thomas Howard was Referring to in his will? If so we know this Mary Cissell came to Nelson County, KY because John Hanson Burch did Also. Remember that John Hanson Burch had a sister Priscilla Burch who married Valentine Hefner a witness on will of Thomas Howard. His brother Alexander " Sandy" Burch married Eleanor Cissell daughter of Peter Cissell and Eleanor ?(who I believe was Thomas Howard's Sister) Burch Family are Witnesses on will I Believe of John Baptist Howard. So I present a new thought, Could it be that Eleanor ? wife of Peter Cissell was a Howard by maiden name? was she the daughter of Edward Howard, and the sister of Thomas Howard who died in 1810 in Nelson County, KY. Please tell me is there a possibility?
