They most likely came south to NC from Maryland, possibly with a stop in VA. The family was Quaker and many of them are recorded in the Hinshaw book on NC Quaker meetings. I believe there also is a genealogy book on the Ephraim Bowles line that went west to Indiana. I will copy below what I have in a file on this line. Most of what I have is second-hand, although I have extracted some information from the Hinshaw book. That's about all I can contribute. I don't see much evidence of this line being connected to any of the other NC Bowles lines. I wish we could get someone from this Pasquotank Co. line to participate in the DNA project.
