His sister married into the Kippon/Skippon family of Wetheringsett and there was also a BOWLES SKIPPON. I'd be pleased to hear from anyone else with an interest in either the KENT or SKIPPON/SKIPPEN/SKIPPINGS families. Regards, Steve Bowles Kente m. 1stly Katherine Marrett at Westhorpe in 1664. She was buried at Wetheringsett 12th Feb 1670. Four children. 1. Bowles Kent bap.1st Oct 1665 at Wetheringsett. m. Rebecca Godbould at Wetheringsett, 7th Oct 1686. They had nine children. She was buried at Wetheringsett, 27th April 1737 and he was buried there, 14th May 1745. 1c. Bowles Kent bap.27th April 1691 at Wetheringsett. m. Mary Welles at Stoke Ash, 2nd Feb 1715. Both were single persons of Wetheringsett at the time of marriage. Five sons (a sixth is probably Bowles Kent bap.9th Sep 1716, parents given as Robert and Mary Kent). 1i. Thomas Kent bap.18th May 1704 at Wetheringsett. m. Sarah. Five sons and a daughter. 1i4. Bowles Kent bap.14th Feb 1736 at Wetheringsett. 2. Mary Kent bap.July 1667 at Wetheringsett. m. David Kippon at Wetheringsett, 2nd Aug 1696. She was buried at Wetheringsett, 13th Dec 1741. (see The Skippens of Wetheringsett and Foxhall). 2a. Bowles Kippon bap.8th April 1704, buried 8th Nov 1705, Wetheringsett. 2b.. Bowles Kippon bap.1st Dec 1706, Wetheringsett. He m.1stly Ann Worts, Feb 1732/3, at Stonham Aspal. He appears as Bowles Skippon of Stonham Parva in marriage entry. She appears as Anna in marriage entry but as Ann when children were baptised. They had thirteen children. She was buried at Stonham Parva 2nd Feb 1755. 2b1. Booles Kippen bap.12th Dec 1742 at Stonham Parva. Boales Kippen, infant, was buried 15th Feb 1742. 2b2. Booles Kippen bap.15th Jan 1743 at Stonham Parva. He was buried, an infant, 19th June 1744. 2b3. Booles Kippin bap.23rd April 1748 at Stonham Parva. He was buried, an infant, 4th June 1748 Booles Kippen, widower of Lt.Stonham m. 2ndly Elizabeth Battley, single of Lt.Stonham at Lt.Stonham, 12th Nov 1755. He signed his name and was witness to several other marriages at Lt.Stonham. They had five children. Elizabeth Kippon, aged 36 of Lt.Stonham was admitted to the Workhouse at Barham, 11th Nov 1766, with children, Elizabeth, Sarah, Bowles and Benjamin. A fifth child was born in the Workhouse, and Elizabeth and four of her children were discharged 21st April 1767. Her daughter Elizabeth was discharged by her dying, 19th Feb 1767. On 24th Nov 1767, Bowles Skippins, age given as 63, shoemender of Lt.Stonham was admitted to the Workhouse with Elizabeth and children, Bowles, Benjamin, Sarah and Edward. They appear to have remained there for several years, as Elizabeth was discharged by being buried, 26th April 1780. 2b4. Booles Kippin bap.7th April 1757 at Stonham Parva. He appears as Bowles and was aged 10 when admitted to the Workhouse with his mother, 11th Nov 1766. He was discharged with her, 21st April 1767. He was aged 11, when admitted to the Workhouse with both parents, 24th Nov 1767. He was discharged 3rd Oct 1769. 4. Katherine Kent bap.20th April 1670 at Wetheringsett. m. Robert Hern at Wetheringsett, 14th Oct 1690. They had four children. 4b. Bowles Hern bap.at Wetheringsett, 11th Feb 1697. Bowles Herne m. Mary Hew at Wetheringsett, 1721. He was buried at Wetheringsett, 18th Feb 1753, a married man, and she was buried there, 29th July 1754, a widow. They had six children. Bowles Kent m. 2ndly Margaret Rout at Hinderclay, 1673. She was buried at Wetheringsett, 21st May 1693. He was buried as Bowles Kent senior, 16th May 1702.
